Did you know that Grandpa Beck's day job, up until recently when he retired, was being an airline captain for Alaska Airlines? He worked as a pilot for 43 years, and 33 of those were with Alaska Airlines.
Becoming a pilot was a childhood dream of his. It took a lot of work and several tough years to get the flight hours needed, but it was a career he loved. His favorite things about being a pilot were getting to travel and see new places and things, the view from thousands of feet in the air, and especially working with two of his kids, his son BJ as a copilot, and his daughter Heidi as a flight attendant.
It was a great career! But now he is retired he can enjoy being Grandpa Beck full time!
